Cross-linked polyethylene foam (also known as XLPE) is a closed-cell foam that is
resistant to water and has a compact feel to it. It is consequently used extensively
in the packaging of medical products and equipment. It has the ability to protect
Class "A" surfaces and has many of the same properties as polyethylene foam.

Compression molding and thermoforming are common fabricating methods used
when creating components, packaging and products from closed-cell cross-linked
polyethylene foams. These fabrication methods provide a unique finish that is aesthetically
pleasing while still providing the necessary cushioning and support required.
