Headliner Magic® carries two versions of its luxury 92% polyester / 8% spandex stretch suede: foam-backed and no-foam. This guide explains the difference so you can order the right material for your build the first time.

Which One Should You Choose?
Choose Foam-Backed When…
- You are recovering a headliner board and need the fabric to self-pad and adhere cleanly without wrinkles.
- Your original headliner board had foam-backed fabric — replacing like-for-like gives the most OEM look.
- You want a premium, finished feel with no visible sag between glue points.
- The substrate is rigid (headliner board, fiberglass shell, ABS panel).
Choose No-Foam When…
- You are wrapping a surface that already has foam (existing headliner foam, door cards, console sides).
- You need a thinner profile so trim pieces still snap into place at their original depth.
- You are doing a precision re-wrap where adding 3/16" of foam would interfere with clips or channels.
- Budget is a priority — no-foam is $22 less per yard.
Coverage Guide (Foam-Backed)
Each yard = 36" long × 60" wide. Cut pieces ship as one continuous length.
- 1 yard — select single-cab trucks and compact cars (board-only; not enough for all single-cabs)
- 2 yards — most single-cab trucks, full-size sedans, and extended-cab trucks
- 3 yards — crew-cab trucks; also covers headliner board and visors in most applications
- 10+ yards — wholesale/discounted pricing unlocks automatically in cart
Tip: When in doubt, order one extra yard. Fabric can't be added after it's cut, and leftover suede is useful for pillars, visors, and A/B/C-post wraps.

- Stretch: 4-way; conforms around curves and compound bends without puckering
Installation Compatibility
- Works with all standard headliner adhesive sprays (3M Super 77, headliner-specific contact adhesives).
- The 4-way stretch makes it easy to pull taut over bows and boards — no heat gun required in most installs.
- Foam backing bonds directly to the headliner board substrate; no separate foam layer needed.
- No-foam version: apply adhesive to existing foam or substrate, then stretch suede over top.
- Trim pieces, visors, and dome-light bezels reinstall at their original depth with the foam-backed version on most vehicle platforms.
