Cross-linked polyethylene foam (also known as XLPE) is a closed-cell foam that is resistant to water and has a compact feel to it. It is consequently used extensively in the packaging of medical products and equipment. It has the ability to protect Class "A" surfaces and has many of the same properties as polyethylene foam.
